Update

There will be no video (for now) of Brie's Christmas play at school. I deleted the video of her Jelly Bean dance off my camera!! I am sick... I can't believe that I did that, so sadly, until I find someone with the video there will not be one!

Is Hunny a teenager?

Well lots to tell today! Brie had her Christmas play & party at Preschool. She was a jelly bean with 3 other girls in the play! (I'll post a video on that later!)
Instead of going to the daycare I'm letting her stay with me at work. She decided she was hungry so I took her out to eat. Hoping Josh was in town we called to ask him if he wanted to join us. As luck would have it, he was able to meet us there.
After leaving Josh was behind us in his truck, as we were turning to the right Brie looked back and said, "Daddy's blinking his light at me Momma!"
As we were passing the cemetery on the way back to work after Josh was "blinking his light at her", our conversation went like this:
B: Mom, who died there?

M: Lots of people are buried there.

B: When I'm a teenager like Hunny, I'm going to die. (very seriuosly she said this)

M: Oh, when your a teenager huh? (trying not to laugh)

B: Yeah, isn't Hunny a teenager?

M: Well, she can be I guess.

B: When do we die?

M: When God gets ready to see you in heaven.

B: Oh, well, I'm ready to meet Meema. (Meema is my mom's mother. We talk a lot about Meema, so Brie knows about her.)

I didn't know what else to say, I was speechless. This child cracks me up & then amazes me all within a few minutes.
Plus of course I had to call Hunny and tell her Brie thought she was a teenager... she loved that idea!

I did it & so did she!

Heck yes... I figured out how to post a video... & it was super easy!! Way to go me!

Here it is the debut of Brie dancing (...well mostly singing but hey that will do!) I didn't film the whole thing because after the first few times you get the idea & the song. So there are two different parts!! Bless my sole & my little heart my baby actually DANCED & IN PUBLIC TOO!! Might have had something to do with the fact that I told her if she didn't dance tonight that she would take dance until she actually performed with the group! My exact words, "You will take dance lessons until you are 40 if that's what it takes!!" ...you think it worked? or was it something else? ... maybe she actually started having fun & forgot to be shy!! Anyway here she is... you go baby, you made momma's day, week, month, & year!!!!

At the beginning, she sorta jumped the gun & I was afraid she might not do it after all!

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!

So that isn't a very original title, but one I just love to hear!

While the stores have had early signs of Christmas it's not until I hear that first song that it sinks in that Christmas is so very near!!

The kids & I were on our way to a birthday party with mom & dad Saturday night in their car & all of a sudden CHRISTMAS music started playing. I was a little excited & figured my mom (who sings Christmas songs in July) had already put her Christmas cd to use already. To my amazement, it was on their XM satellite radio station Holly. I was even more excited because you know what that means........ Christmas music 24/7. So Monday I got to work & immediately signed on XM online & listened to music all day long. It made for a wonderful Monday!

His turn!

Brodie is officially 19 months old today, since I haven't blogged much on him, it's his turn now!
He doesn't say "da" for everything anymore, instead he says "ma" & calls everyone "mama"
He loves to give kisses (his kissing noise is almost as cute as the kisses)
he can't sleep anywhere except his bed (we did good there)
He loves his cowboy boots, he says "boos"
he absolutely loves my dad (aka Poppa)
he looks like my dad (and acts like him)
he says "Brie Brie"
he love love loves his sister
he calls Hunny "mama" when he wants her attention
he loves to ask "what's that", but it's more like "wha da?"
if your in his way he will tell you "boo, boo" for move
he fights with his sister a lot
he's polite and says some form of thank you
his is seriously bow-legged
he loves to dance to music
when you ask him where parts of his body are like his head he leans forward to show you his
head, or like his ear, he turns his head so you can see his ear, it's pretty cute
he's good with babies especially Hunter
he likes to wrestle
he's my favorite little cowboy & I love him lots!!

Sitting in Brie's baby doll stroller

Don't you think he looks like him?

Notice..he's in the center of the circle

They really do love each other

Once the boys dress up like cowboys, Brie has to wear her boots & hat too. November 9, 2008.

Firsts...good & a little sad

Today Brie takes her FIRST school pictures. I forgot till Ms. Lauri reminded Josh who called to remind me. (THANKS MS. LAURI!) She was at HUNNY's & the outfit she was going to wear just wasn't FIRST picture material. So I drove (not too fast) to get her & we hurriedly put on a very FIRST picture worthy ensemble. It makes me a little sad to think this is just the beginning of her school pictures yet to come. It also makes me dread the first day of kindergarten (I know I will cry). It brings back the traumatic memory of her first day of preschool this year, (I cried then too). But then it takes me back to her first smile (she was born smiling), her first tooth (that was a nightmare), her first steps, & the first time she spent the night with Uncle Buddy..which happened to be her first sleepover out of Olney (2 hours away). Of course there are many more but those are just a few. All of those firsts went pretty well or at last we survived them. So I'll just pick my chin up & think of the tons more FIRSTS yet to come & thank God for sending me my precious girl & allowing me to witness her FIRSTS.

?Halloween? or Whatchamacallit

Our community library does a pumpkin contest every year. Children are allowed to decorate a pumpkin. This year they started a new award for best book character. I was way excited because Brie's favorite book is called A Bad Case of the Stripes. Obviously the title says it all so what's easier than painting stripes on a pumpkin then adding facial features? Brie painted the stripes & I helped with the face (parental helping is allowed in). Here are the products of our hard work. (by the way, that is NOT, I repeat NOT a cigarette in her mouth. it is supposed to look like a thermometer, yep a very sad thermometer) No, we didn't win either.

Here's my girl & her pretty darn cute pumpkin

Well, I know Halloween isn't something everybody likes, & I don't particularly care for it other than you get to dress your kids up, they get to participate in the OLNEY HALLOWEEN parade, and it's a chance for Josh to get some "much needed" candy.
So any ways here are some pictures of my beautiful Witch Princess & my bouncing little Tiger!!

At the parade he wouldn't let me take a picture so I got the behind. Look at that cute little tail!

My pretty little witch...her hat just wouldn't stay on!

Since I didn't get pictures before we went out I just knew we wouldn't get any good ones once we got home but they surprised me.

So cute!

Birthday Weekend!

It’s about time I finally get some birthday pictures up. Her birthday was Friday Oct. 24. We had her Preschool birthday party for her on Thursday. She and I made chocolate cupcakes & decorated them. We also put together some goody bags for her class.
Her preschool party.
Wow what a bite!

Her Aunt Shoni spoiled her Friday by getting her the biggest balloon with all the Disney Princesses on it AND Brie’s favorite dessert THE MOLTEN from her FAVORITE restaurant Chili’s (only because Shoni works there). Aunt Ryan & Uncle Buddy (Gabe) & the boys came in on Friday so we all at a big supper at mom & dad’s that night. We sang Happy Birthday to Brie & let her blow out the candles on her “cake”. She didn’t like us to sing to her, she covered her ears (see the picture).

What she did when we sang Happy Birthday. (I didn't think our singing was that bad!)

Saturday was the big party!! We had a lovely mix of Thomas the Train & The Little Mermaid decorations. Both Brie & Dane got lots of very nice toys & lots of clothes (THANKS HUNNY & POPPA!). We got the kids a pull string piñata. This kind of piñata is the greatest. There is no chance of anyone getting smacked with a baseball bat. All you do is let the kids take turn pulling the strings & only one string opens the bottom for all fillings to come out!! Isn’t that cool! Well we only had 4 kids to share the ton of candy & fillers I bought. There was Brie, Brodie, Dane, & their cousin Luke, so of course we came home with at least half of what I put in the darn thing!!
Happy Birthday Brie & Dane!!

She's 5 Today!

What a sweet baby!

Five years ago today one of the best things that ever happened to me entered the world! Since then she has kept me on my toes! My Brie is a sweet, smart, & clever girl! She is loved by so many people. Her Aunts Shoni & Chelsi sure spoiled her today. They brought her a HUGE balloon & Brie's favorite dessert from Chili's, the Molten. She got to spend all day with her mom, HUNNY, & brother. We shopped, ate lunch, & picked up birthday party supplies. I'm hoping she had a very good day! The only bad thing was Josh couldn't be in town for their special lunch date. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY our Brie, Brie! Daddy & I love you so much!
Here are a few more pictures!

What a poser!

My Baby!

Well, tomorrow Brie turns 5. Oh my goodness, I can't believe it. Today we had her little party at 4-School. Yesterday we made cupcakes & decorated them (of course there was pink sprinkles involved). As a surprise Hunny came & helped out. She wouldn't get up in front of her class so we could sing happy birthday. Ms. Sherry presented her with a cute little Birthday certificate. We put together little goody bags for her classmates. It turned out pretty well. Tomorrow her daddy is going to try to be in town so he can take her out on a father-daughter Birthday lunch. Saturday we are having a birthday party for her and Dane together. Dane will be 3 on Sunday. I just love how they are the "best" cousins & their birthdays are just 2 years & 2 days apart. I hope they stay close even when they are older. Then on Sunday we are having our Fall Family & Friends Fellowship Fish Fry @ church. So we have an extremely busy weekend ahead!!

L-M N-O

Ok, two in one day! That's just crazy right! Well of course I have all this free time & I just remember something especially cute (well at least to me) that Brie said the other day! She's almost 5 & has known her alphabet for a while now & she's also known how to write it as well. I taught her in all caps first & stalled on teaching the lower case letters. So she thinks her name should be all caps BRIE! Since she is now in preschool they want her to write it correctly with only capital B an the rest lowercase. This has become quite a chore (thanks to mommy!). So we've been practicing a lot! The other day on the way to Wichita she was writing out her alphabet one letter at a time & after each letter she would start say the alphabet all over again. So if she was on "G" she would write the "G" & then to figure out what came next she would start singing again starting at "A". Well she made it to M & said, "Mom how do you write elum?" It took me a minute to figure out what she was talking about, then I laughed (& got in trouble for laughing at her). I told her to say L-M slower because she was running them together. It was cute. Then she said, "Mom how do you write n-o (saying it fast)?" Once again I had to explain she was saying it too fast. I'm still not sure she got it, so we have added one more thing we need to work on!

Bigger & Better Things!

Well, I'm officially not an employee of Hamilton Hospital. I decided the minute I had to explain why my 4 year old & my 1 year old can't be expected to stay at home by themselves, that was it. So I'm done. I have mixed emotions about not being there. I'd like to think I made some friends but I can't say for sure. So now I'll just go back to being Mom's assistant & work 2 - 3 days a week & stay at home with my babies the rest of the time. My children are more important to me than any job ever could be & while I'm a little saddened at not doing what I feel I was called to do. Being a mommy is the biggest & most important job I have been called to do. (ok so the light just came on!!) They are only little once. And I want to be the one to take Brie to school & to pick her up from school. I want me to be the one who takes her to dance & picks her up from dance. I want to take my babies to day-care & pick them up. I don't want a sub to do it. That's my job. I'm hoping I will feel better after writing this. I hate the circumstances that came about as to why I will no longer be working at the hospital, I really did enjoy it. So when you say your prayers say a little one for me, please.

Hallelujah!

In case your not a uTube fanatic, there are some videos on there of the "Farting Preacher". They show excerpts of the preachers sermons & include obviously fake farting noises. However fake they are the placement of the farts is absolutely hilarious. Brie loves this certain video where the preacher is sitting at his desk doing his sermon & all of a sudden he farts, then raises his hands and says, "Oh Hallelujah!". This has to be the greatest moment for Brie. So she's been going around saying "Oh Hallelujah!" to certain things. She's been saying so much that the last few days I've noticed Brodie trying to say Hallelujah. Yesterday though he perfected it. We were at the Woodson football game & I was telling Josh that Brodie was jabbering more & was learning to say Hallelujah. To prove it, I told Brodie to say "Oh Hallelujah" & he said the cutest form of hallelujah that a 17 month old could possibly say. But i was thinking what 17 month old's first word (other than momma & daddy) is hallelujah! Just thought I'd share how my baby boy is progressing!

Cute

Well, this has been one heck of a looong day. I worked at the hospital last night (6:30p.m. - 6:30.am.), then got to come home to my precious babies. I was understandably exhausted (especially after only 3 hours of sleep during the day on Tuesday). Thankfully both my kids were in horrible moods & I was able to take a nap @ 8:00 while they did the same. We got in a 2 hour nap...thank you God! We had been up for a while, and as usual they had been fighting & being the usual brother & sister. I was on the phone with my mom & Brie was just giving me such attitude, & I finally had enough. I told her that was enough of the attitude & she needed to go to her room & sit on her bed & get her attitude changed. I got off the phone with my mom, & heard Brie yelling at me. She said, "Mommy, can I get up now? My attitude is gone.". Trying so hard not to wet my pants from laughing I told her sure but she better make sure her attitude stayed gone. I just love it. I often wished my attitude could be "gone" just like that. I just thought that was sooo great.

Interesting

Have you ever seen the movie The Sandlot? Well, it was one of mine & my brother's favorite movies. (we watched it like a million times) You know that part wherre Ham tells Smalls, "Your killing me Smalls, your killing me."? Lately I've been telling Brie, "Your killing me smalls, your killing me. ", when she's walking at a snail's pace when I'm in a hurry or whining about having to pick up her room or something like that. Well the other day she wanted me to get something for her & didn't get it when she thought I should have & proceeded to say, "Your killing me mom, your just killing me!" I couldn't do anything but laugh. That's my girl.

Work!

I worked at the hospital today. It was definately a good day, a little long but overall a good....no a GREAT day. One of the girls in the youth group came to the hospital with her mom to see a paitent & she visited with me a little. It was nice. I love the youth in our group! It was kind of a sad day too.
Last week I was taking care of a patient who I've taken care of before. He wasn't doing well at all & I got home & was really worried about him. He is what we nurses call the "Perfect Patient", he never griped about ANYTHING, was ALWAYS nice, & even took time to ask about your family. In the midst of feeling horrible, (with every right seeing as how he was so seriously sick), he took the time to ask about my kids, he laughed and joked with the nurses who took care of him, & was always so sincere.
Well, I had been checkin up on him & found out last Friday that he passed away. My heart is broken. I'm still just soo sad. Today I was there at the hospital & thinking about my sweet little patient & thinking that I was seriously meant for this job. I was also thinking that most if not all nurses start out this way....soft, caring, & genuinely concerned about their patients & then over the years they turn hard, ugly, & just really don't give a rip about the patients. Seeing as how this is my first patient to have passed away that I really got attached to I wasn't quite expecting these feelings, (goes to prove I'm just a softy after all) but I hope that I can stay this soft for all patients as the years go by!

Beginning

Ok, well since I'm new to this the first one will probably stink!! Today was one heck of a day. We went to a family renunion....(HOORAY!) in Seymour. I forgot that family reunions often turn into a scene right from a soap opera! There was squabbling & yelling & what not. It turned out all right. The only reason we go is for my grandma.
My brother & Ryan are in, which means we get to spend some time with the boys! (who happen to just be the other half of my world!!) I love being "Aunt DiDi".
This week Josh had been gone on a Mission Trip, he FINALLY got back today. Only to be greeted by a hateful parent who preceeded to gripe & yell at him about how some things were handled. GOD BE WITH YOU!! Have you ever had that moment where someone attacks someone you love..your kids, your husband, parents, or siblings? I don't know about you but when that happens oh my granny, the "mama bear" in me just wants to rise up (& usually does) only to make matters worse. I'm just so glad I wan't there this morning when that person was yelling at my husband b/c I know with all my heart I wouldn't have handled it well!
The kids & I have stayed a couple nights with my parents. We greatly appreciate them letting us crash.. THANKS MOM!
Well, I guess that's it for now. More for later!
