Project 52-12

So the time has finally come *sigh*, a day I have been dreading for quite some time.... one of my kids having eyeglasses. On Monday of this week, Brie told me that she had trouble seeing the white board at school, and that it was "blurry". Tuesday morning I went and talked to her teacher about what they had done the previous day and where Brie was sitting, etc. so I could get an idea of what was going on. Later Tuesday morning, I made an eye appointment for Brie to see the eye Dr. that my grandmother, mother, and I have been using forever.

Friday, Brie and I made our way to Wichita to the Dr. They did a quick screening and then we waited in the exam room. When the Dr. walked in, he said the screening showed that she is nearsighted, after doing his tests that he has done on me for twenty-something years, Brie needed glasses.

So without further ado, here is my pretty, fancy Brie in her glasses.

*Here is a picture of me at about the same as age Brie in my glasses. These glasses are hideous!!

52-11

We took the kids to the Fort Worth Zoo for spring break. Josh could only take off one day, so we spent Sunday night in Ft. Worth and went Monday. Needless to say, it was pretty chilly and windy that day, so we took blankets in with us.

Notice the blanket. ;)

When we got home Monday night, Brodie couldn't sleep. This is what I found when I went to check on him once.

Silly boy!

Project 52-10

We didn't do much this past week, so I'm posting an old picture.
This is from August 2010 when we were on vacation. I love this one.

Project 52-9

Before we get started I am going to tell you a little about Josh's side of the family, since I never talk about them. Josh is one of five kids (CRAZY, I know!), and is second oldest. His oldest sister, Barbi (makes me think of the song), lives in Houston, so we hardly ever see her. After Josh is Shoni, who is six years younger, Chelsi, who is seven years younger, and Caleb, who is nine years younger. The girls live near by and we see them often.

Josh's mom celebrated her Birthday March 2, and we spent all day the next Saturday with his parents and siblings. Shoni and her boyfriend Casey wanted to take Brodie to the Monster Truck thing in Wichita. It was decided that all the boys would go and the girls would do something else (thank goodness).

We all met and ate supper together, and then went our separate ways. I had a few errands I needed to run including going to Dillard's to see if they had the Easter dress I wanted for Brie. So we looked around and didn't find what I wanted, then we went and tried on all the lovely hats. We finally decided we would go bowling. We had a blast bowling and Brie beat us all. ;)

The boys said Brodie had fun at the Monster Truck, and he was SUPER excited the whole time.

After everyone was done, we all met back at Shoni & Chelsi's apartment. The kids spent the night with the girls and had even more fun. I must say, the girls sure do spoil my kids!

Shoni made Minnie a sunflower (her favorite flower) Birthday cake. It was so cute!!

Minnie & Chelsi

This is the funniest picture, Shoni is pointing to the scoreboard and Brie was excited (maybe this was the time she got a strike) Chelsi and I said they were saying, "Praise the Lord!!"

What happened Aunt Shoni?
