Little of This & A Little of That

I've finally got some more things to blog about! WOOHOO!
First off, one of the funny things Brodie has been saying. On road trips we often as a family play "I Spy" Brie is very good at it but Brodie... well not so much. A while back I was driving & he kept telling Josh he wanted to play "I Space", Josh had no clue what he was talking about. It took three times for him to say what he wanted to play before I got it... "I Spy". The only color he EVER spies is red. (the only color he knows...sorta).
Next, keep the little man in your prayers because he just can't shake his croup stuff. We have had steroids 3 times now & it keeps coming back. Let me tell you steroids were not made with little boys in mind. They make him MORE hyper & MORE aggressive & just down right mean! It's been a roller coaster ride & I'm ready for that stuff to end.
Now for Brie, this next week she will be having her Christmas break. She is super excited about no school for a while. She has been making all "A's" & hasn't missed a day of school yet. (Thank you LORD!) She has only had to move her "stick" once & since then has made all 100's on her conduct.
Time for "that"... I had this board (the one below) with horse wallpaper on it. Josh's grandma got it for us a couple of years ago for Christmas. When we first got it, I loved it, but the more I looked at it, the wallpaper wasn't really my style. So I decided it needed a transformation. Well it took a lot of elbow grease to get that wallpaper off but I finally completed this project. Once complete & on the wall it took even longer to blog about it. (oh the joys of procrastination!)

still with bits & pieces of the wallpaper left

finished product... scrapbook paper, Mod Podge, & a picture Josh took of his cowboy hat & boot a LONG time ago. I think it turned out nicely & is more to my taste! (it's in the bathroom)

Since Christmas time is a time of giving I decided I wanted to give something to Brie's teachers. I had no idea until mom came across this idea & we re-worked it to fit our style. With her help I was able to complete these clip boards for Brie's Kindergarten teacher & her ballet teacher.

The one for Mrs. Gibson was the first one we did & turned out well. I'm very pleased with the outcome. The one for Miss Allison didn't quite turn out how I imagined but it is still nice.

Since I don't have a "great" tree or anything, so I decided to share my steal on the Christmas stockings I got last year at Hobby Lobby for 75% off, I think they were like $50.00 - $60.00 stockings and I got all of them for what 1 would have cost. I LOVE them. This year I hope to get stocking holders to hang them on the entertainment center. They go GREAT in my red living room!

Feeling me some craftiness

I was going through my pictures & found a picture of something I had made & never posted.
I found the idea from somewhere & since Brie loves to draw & write & we already have tons of books I thought this one was a neat little twist to the plain 'ol books she already had.

Sooooo.... here it is. My craft... it wasn't too time consuming & Brie loved it.
What is it?... a composition notebook, ribbon, Velcro, scrapbook paper, & Modge Podge!

October

I just haven't been feeling the whole blog thing lately, plus I never was & still am not a good writer. I like when you can just go to a blog & they are so witty & clever with their words, BELIEVE me you won't find that here. Anyways, enough about that.

October was busy, we had Brie's birthday & Dane's birthday, & of course Halloween.

I had their costumes ordered by the end of September... I knew what I wanted Brodie to be & Brie told me what she wanted to be & I ordered 'em off e-bay.

Then we decided Brie needed to have 2 birthday parties (CRAZY IDEA!) One was for just friends (girls ONLY!) & the other was for family & close friends. They were both a lot of work but the grin on her face made it all worth while. Her & her friends made necklaces & bracelets & they decorated their own cupcakes. (i would post pictures but haven't asked permission to put other peoples children on here)

For Halloween Brie was Tigger & Brodie was Winnie-The-Pooh. Most of you know that they call my mom Hunny, what she's been called since Brie was born. So I begged mom into letting (& helping) me make her into a.... Pot of Hunny to go with Pooh & Tigger. The end result was spectacular. See for yourself.

Ending with a little craftiness (if that's what you call it) I made some witches hats for my AWANA class at church. They were SUPER easy & the kids LOVED em.

Old School....by about 3 months!

I found some pictures today that never got posted & I think they should.

Before we moved, before our vacation, on a weekend in July that was fuuuuulllll of events, I volunteered to keep my nephews. Now, this was the first time I had ever keep them BOTH & was a little nervous about keeping Hunter (aka Hootie). It all worked out in the end & we had a marvelous weekend.

So on to the fun. Josh was a little jealous because I had bought powdered sugar donuts, pop-tarts, & a few other sugary things I know the boys will eat for breakfast (things I normally don't buy). I discovered that Hootie liked chicken & rice (he ate tons of it) & that Dane eats muffins (blueberry ones!!). We helped Hootie remember he was #1 (see picture!!), he held up his finger constantly.
Needless to say our weekend was a ball of sugary fun with bubbles on the side with lots of laughing, giggling, & kisses from their Aunt DD.

Hunter eating the chicken & rice.... he ate & ate & ate

Hootie just chilling

Hoot in the doll stroller... he actually fits

Playing with Hunny's bubble machine, they had a GREAT time.

I LOVE THIS PICTURE!

If looks could kill.... like Hootie like Poppa!!!

The gang on Sunday morning (we were all up & at 'em) notice Hoot doing his #1!

I have no idea what Brodie & Dane were doing

Kinda hard to get 4 kids between the ages of 1 & 6 to smile & look in the same direction!

Eating their sugary breakfast on Sunday morning

Dane's funny face... he wouldn't look at the camera

Brodie's funny face!

Brie's funny face.

Since we didn't get a good one of Hoot's funny face.... this will work.

I saved the best picture for last!!! Hunter in his shades!!!

We all think he's one pretty cool dude!!!

Fall, Poop, & Boobs

So if you ever look at my mom's page you will get this story twice, but if not then I hope you think it's as silly as we did.

Wednesday Brodie & I met up with Hunny in Wichita so we could keep her occupied while her car was getting fixed. We went to the usual places Wal-Mart, Michaels, & Hobby Lobby. I had to get new tires for my car & as you can imagine it just killed us to have to wait in Wal-Mart while they were putting them on.

After they FINALLY fixed Hunny's car we took her back to Patterson's & came home. I racked up on some fall decorations (because they are my absolute favorite!) so I could decorate my birdcage thingy on the wall in the living room. I already had the cute little pumpkins I bought from HL a couple of years ago & just bought the berries & the leaves. (see picture!)

Anyways... to the cute part... Brodie WILL not potty train (it must be the Hagle in him) ;) so mom was helping me put the "greenery" in the birdcage & we started to smell something. I was getting ready to change him & Josh walked in (thank goodness). Brodie had waited too long to tell me that he was dirty & managed to get it EVERYWHERE! I did get him out of his pants... but failed in not getting anything else dirty because he wouldn't be still. He leaned against me & got ME dirty. I was WAY grossed out so I told Josh to finish so I could change.

While Josh was changing the blow out, Brodie kept saying "sorry Josh, sorry Josh". Then he blurted out "I have boobies!" I just laughed cause it must be a boy thing!?! Then Brie said, "Did Jesus have boobies?" So Hunny replied, "Well, yes he must have because He was made like us." So they were satisfied... Brodie has boobies & Jesus must have had them too!

Needless to say between my very smart adult wanna be 5 1/2 year old & my goofy, family comedian 2 year old, life is NEVER dull or boring in my house!
The birdcage with the leaves & my pumpkin on top!
(i got this birdcage at a garage sale for $3.00 it was gold but I spray paitned it black)

In a previous post I said something about my new entertainment center. Well this is it with some of my fall stuff.

Finally!

Where to start! It's the end of August & this has been the busiest month!
We FINALLY got moved into the new house earlier this month, we were here for about 2 or 3 nights & went on vacation for 5 days.
Between moving, unpacking, then packing... it's amazing that I really didn't forget anything. (Thanks to my handy little checklist, I managed to remember to pack everything we needed for vacation!) We headed to Houston or Alvin where Josh's sister Barbi lives. We stayed with her for a couple of nights. We went to Chuck-E-Cheese the first night since the kids were AMAZING on the drive down there! The next day we went to Galveston (this was at Brie's request) to the beach. We found a place where you could just park your car right up there on the beach & it wasn't crowded at all there was definitely less than 10 other cars there. It was quiet & nice. The kids had lots of fun playing in the sand & catching the waves! It was a GREAT family outing. We went to the Aquarium at the Moody Gardens... the kids especially liked getting to touch a starfish while we were there! The day after the beach was school shopping day... we went to San Marcos to the outlet mall there. We found some amazing deals at the Children's Place. We made our way to Austin to the Lone Star Camp ground where we stayed in a cabin! We did absolutely nothing in Austin except relax & swim!

The kids thought this helicopter was cool! It was on the back of a semi

Riding the horse at C-E-C

Brodie also riding the horse at CEC

The boys LOVE to play shooting games!

Barbi & Brie being pirates!

I'm not a big fan of bridges especially when there is water underneath. I did manage to get a picture going across the bridge!

Entering Galveston

Seawall

Brie kept saying, "I can't believe it, I just can't be live we are here at the ocean!"

Brodie was asleep & didn't even know we were there!

A beautiful beach house!

Brie also went to cheerleading camp a couple of weeks ago. The last day parents could come watch, we invited Shoni & her boyfriend Casey. Needless to say she got a little performance shy!

She did the cheers with her hands over her eyes, she would keep one hand over her eyes & do the motions with the other!

with Casey & Shoni

Brie also started kindergarten this month. It was a little sad but I managed to make it & of course she did too! She likes it so far & is enjoying her teacher. We started homework tonight (reading for 20 minutes).

First day of school pictures!
