WOW 2014 - 2015

It's been two years since my last blog post. WOWZA! The kids are done with school
my girl will be going into junior high... a 6th grader and the boy will be going into
3rd grade! Time flies when you are having fun.
The last two or three years  I have done a first and last day comparison. You can see how much they have changed. My babies are growing up.

The Girl's activities this year included
dance
basketball skills team (kind of like PIPS)
basketball
softball
she tried out for some UIL events and went as an alternate
she got the 4th sixth weeks outstanding students in 5th grade

she also got the a patience award for the characteristic of the month in April

The Boy's activities this year included
his first year of peewee football (picture below)
basketball skills team (kind of like PIPS)
basketball
baseball
he tried out in UIL events but did not make it (he will try again next year)

This year they had a week of dress up days...

Halloween costume - Football player & Apple White (from Ever After High series)

Pink out day

 Tie-Dye / Bright colors

Their "real" Halloween costumes
Nerd & Hulk

We had several ice/snow storms and one of those days we binged watched Lord of the Rings

 The boy's version of Gandalf

We are so excited for summer to begin. There are camps to go to like pre-teen camp (WHAAAAT?), basketball camp, library activities, reading club, vacation, and other things we have planned.

On a side note, the hubs and I celebrated our 10th anniversary! Woop! It's been a great ten years, and I'm so glad I have gotten to spend it with him. He's an amazing husband, father, and friend. We are blessed to have him lead our family in Christ. He is a thoughtful and caring man who is stubborn and hard-headed enough to put up with me, who is equally stubborn and hard-headed. Happy Anniversary!
I love you times double infinity!!

K & 3

First day of school for the kids.

She is in 3rd grade
- they will be rotating between 2 teachers this year
- she will be taking the state test in math & reading (I think)
- her friend Clay is in her class again this year - she was pretty excited about that

Her activities this year will include...
Dance
- she will be taking ballet, jazz, tap, & hip-hop
-she has been taking dance since she was 3 loves it
- this year she moved up a grade level in dance
(we thought this was way cool and are so proud of our girl)

Art
- she loves to draw and color
- art is her favorite subject at school...
after science of course

We will have a busy year, but are so looking forward to the things God has in store for our sweet girl!

The Boy
- in Kindergarten
- learning to be still, keeping his hands to himself, and not talking quite so much
will prove to be a chore for our very active son
- so far this week though, he has managed to stay in the green
(for which we are super proud)
- he will hopefully be reading by the end of the school year
(and will hopefully be enjoying it too)

This years activities include...
Soccer
- he is on a team with several of his fellow classmates
- he is into sports so he thinks this is the most awesome thing ever
- his new Uncle Casey played soccer in high school, so that makes it even more awesome
- his daddy is his coach so the awesomeness continues

Praying that our super active guy has a blast as he begins his journey in learning.

*sigh* they are growing up too fast

Catching Up!

So it has been quite some time. So much has happened since I last posted. We bought a house in April a week before Brodie's 5th Birthday party, it was stressful getting the house ready to move in, we ripped up carpet in the living room and the master bedroom, to reveal hardwood floor. We sanded and put a sealant on the hardwood floors in the kids rooms, living room, & our bedroom. With all that I was packing, and planning a party.

In May school ended Brie will move on to 3rd grade - I can't believe my baby is growing up. Josh and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary.

In June, Josh's sister Shoni got married. So we added a new brother to our already huge family.

In July, we went to Ruidoso, NM for vacation with my mom and dad & Kay Dixon. It was sooo much fun. We went to the horse races, white sands national park, the boys and I went rainbow trout fishing - I caught 2 fish!! We celebrated the 4th of July in a nearby town that had a fabulous 4th parade, went to the Flying J Ranch, and of course we went shopping!

I turned 29 on July 14, which is super scary - I am dreading turning 30.

I had a Ophthalmologist appointment in later July, that has resulted in me having to go see a neurologist. My ophthalmologist is concerned because my optic nerve is enlarged She has thrown out some things it could be, and my worst fear was to have to have a spinal tap. I am so afraid of needles, like afraid how others are afraid of snakes or spiders or being claustrophobic. I got in very quickly to see the neurologist, and he had blood work done, which showed my B12 to be low, so I have started taking B12 and getting shots. (dun dun dun - yuck!!)I had a MRI done on Friday. It was very overwhelming, however, I have prayer warriors, who have been praying on my behalf. I go tomorrow for the reading, and am quite nervous.

Be praying for me please, I will keep you posted.

I will add pics in another post later.

So a couple of weeks ago I got a fantabulous new camera. I have been taking several pictures. Here are just a "few". ;)
my husband was my guinea pig the day I got my camera

one of their "poses" that they gave their daddy for his birthday.
They made their own brithday cards for him and Brie wrote in hers
"happy birthday daddy. You are almost 30... and bald."
We all - well almost all had a good laugh at that one.
Josh dancing to happy birthday at On The border.
It was quite comical.
(notice his other baby sister Chelsi to the far right)
The cake that Shoni made
Poppa teaching his grandsons how to play marbles.
Poppa and the boys
Poppa & his girls playing word with friends
the monster valentine box that Josh & Brodie made together.
It turned out so very cute!
The kids Nana got a new pony and we finally got a chance to go see her.
Her name is Sugar - isn't she just the cutest thing ever!?!
They got to ride her and enjoyed it.
Brie enjoyed not having any help.

How the girl always styles my hair - board straight.

Curly - pretty much the only way I wear it because I have such
a hard time streaightening it.
From the back - I just love it.
