HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY SWEETIE!

Today is our anniversary. We have been married for 4 loooong years. (just kidding) Actually, they have sped by so fast. I've already been given my instructions for the day; "rest, & I'M cooking supper!" Sounds good to me!

Thank you Josh for sharing your life with me & being my best friend. I love you more than you could possibly know.

My Brown Eyed Girl

I thought you might need a re-cap on the events of the past couple of weeks!

Brie finished school 2 weeks ago, she had an end of the year party on Saturday & they got their diplomas & a SUPER cute photo album from their teacher! They put on a couple end of the year skits & got to see a firetruck up close!

That same day was her dance recital, so after the party we hurried off to Graham for dress rehearsal. I was the backstage mom, so I couldn't film, but Josh did! Thank goodness! She did an AWESOME job during the real recital! (we aren't allowed to film the actual recital so I don't have anything from it). Afterwards, we went to eat pizza with Hunny & Poppa & then went to see some special friends who were in.

Her last t-ball game was this week. (thank goodness!) She finished out the year & did better than I expected.

Overall, she has seriously improved in the way of social skills. (the whole reason for why I put her in all these activities!) My original plans were to home school her, but then seeing her need to be "put out there" in a more social environment made me change my mind. She was such an introvert, she would freak out whenever someone would talk to her. (even people she knew)

However, now she will speak when spoken to (and without putting her hands in her mouth!), she is more outgoing (not a lot but better), and she actually performed in front of an audience/people she didn't know. Maybe I'm just a hard nosed mom, but I'm so proud of her progress she has made.

Oh & I got her signed up for Kindergarten next year!

Well it just so happened that Brodie has put his momma to shame! A couple of posts ago I wrote that he like to "pee pee" & we make a big production of taking off all his clothes & his diaper & he does nothing not even a little dribble.

Well today he had to use the potty as usual & low & behold he actually PEED in the potty chair! I was so excited AND he even did it again about 10 minutes later! WOOHOO! GO BRODIE!

Who thought a kid peeing in the potty could be so exciting?!? (mom's I guess)

Prayer Request!

I'm asking for your prayers today. One of the special men God has put in my life is having surgery tomorrow. This man is a Godly example of a father, husband, & friend; Ronnie Dixon. Being the only girl in my parents circle of friends had it's benefits growing up... I was spoiled rotten & I've had the wonderful opportunity to be a "stand in daughter" for these men. Anyways, a couple of years ago, Ronnie fought a brave & gruesome fight with cancer. They recently found a new spot & is the reason for his having surgery. The spot is attached to part of his liver & they will be removing a small portion of his liver along with the spot. My mother & his son went down today (to Houston) to be with Kay (his wife) & him. We are all a bit nervous but know that he is in God's hands.

We're still here!

It sure has been a while since I last posted. Things are still going fast paced as ever, but things are hopefully fixing to slow down a bit. Brie's last day of preschool is this Thursday, she only has 4 more t-ball games, & her end of the year dance recital is this weekend.

Hopefully after that things will be pretty plain & boring!

She is doing better at t-ball. She actually likes it... today she even caught the ball & got someone out! WOOHOO!! I was so proud of her.

Brodie is just talking up a storm. He copies everything Brie says & I DO MEAN EVERYTHING!! The other day we were out & she said, "Mom! I have to go to the bathroom!" then Brodie (very loudly) said, "Mom! I have to peepee bad!".... what's crazy is he isn't even potty trained so he doesn't even use the bathroom. What a crazy boy!

I have taken lots of pictures but haven't had time to download them so hopefully (fingers crossed) I will have some time this week.
