Here is a re-cap of the last few months. It's not much, but at least it's a post. Ha!
May was fairly busy with a Zoo trip, Brie's first track meet, my anniversary, saying goodbye to a friend, & winding up the school year.
Hunny & Poppa have been wanting to take the kids to the Ft. Worth Zoo for the past couple of years & we just never made it. This year Brie was out of school nearly every Friday in May so we all went to the zoo one of those days. Needless to say we picked the wrong weekend. It rained after we went into the MOLA Exhibit (at least it was indoors!) & poured for the longest time. We didn't even see half of the zoo so we must go back.
The kids looking at a gorilla, Brodie swore his name was Joe.
(Brodie is in love with the movie Mighty Joe Young)
Brie loves lizards, snakes, & spiders... I thought it would be cool for her to have her picture taken by the exhibit sign. She enjoyed looking at all those nasty creatures.
Of course Brie participated in the OES Track Meet, she hates to sweat so she didn't really like it. I thought she did good & told her just to have fun.
Brie's dance recital was in May too. She has come a long way since the first year of just standing on the stage & not moving at all. It helped that they danced to a Cinderella song & Beauty & the Beast song. She did really good & I was so proud of her. She is definitely my little dancing queen.
She had a great audience who came to watch her dance. My grandmother --Granny Lewis was one of those that was able to make it.
In May we had to say farewell to a family friend... more like my little brother. He joined the army and was going to Kentucky for basics, we were able to drive to Childress for a visit before he had to go.
I don't have any anniversary pictures because Josh's little brother graduated from high school on the day of our anniversary. I forgot my camera at the house, so I have no pictures. We celebrated 5 years of marriage. We did nothing special. He bought me a bakers rack (I've been wanting one) & I bought him a night stand for his side of the bed. Not anything great, but what we both wanted & needed.
Brie & her wonderful kindergarten teacher. We just loved her.
I was one of the room moms & helped serve pizza one day during the last week of school. Normally I didn't let Brodie participate because it was Brie's time, but he did for the pizza party. He thought he was just as big as those 6 year olds.
